The Missionary Heart
Born and raised in Houston, Texas, to Jimmie and Gloria Johnson, Jpkeyz was shaped by faith, family, service, and resilience. His perspective was stretched far beyond his hometown when he spent three years in Africa as a missionary kid. That season did more than expose him to another part of the world—it marked him. While there, he worked in the public schools, held weekly children’s and youth Bible studies, and recorded music with the locals. It taught him compassion beyond convenience, service beyond applause, and sacrifice beyond words. Those lessons still echo through his music, his ministry, and his leadership.
A Life of Service
By day, Jpkeyz serves in the field of public health, continuing his lifelong commitment to people, healing, and community impact. Before public health, he worked in behavioral health, walking alongside children and teens through emotional battles that required patience, wisdom, and compassion. Today, he is a licensed foster and adoptive parent, raising three sons and embracing the joy of grandfatherhood, while continuing to build a life marked by faith, endurance, love, and purpose.

His gift is not rooted in performance alone, but in sensitivity.
